Matt joined the Army in 1999 after knowing throughout High School that he wanted to serve. He graduated from Fort Benning, GA as an Infantryman and served at Fort Lewis, WA and Fort Bragg, NC. He went to multiple advanced schools throughout his military career.
Matt served from 1999-2004 in SOCOM until he got hurt in a practice parachute exercise. Due to issues relating to his injury, Matt was discharged in 2005. Matt served multiple combat deployments in support of OIF and OEF.
Matt was given the opportunity to attend an Operation Muskie event in 2013. After re-discovering fishing, Matt realized that it really was helping him with issues related to deployment and helping him finally transition back into the civilian world. Matt and his friends, Mike and Todd, started Musky Mission Complete (MMC) to help other Veterans who may, like him, have been struggling to be out of the military and back home.
"If we can save one Vet, all of the hours and dedication are worth it."
